Meerkat Mayhem

On Friday 3rd March we had a mobile zoo come and visit Y2 as part of their learning around the book Meerkat Mail. We had two very lively (and smelly the children said) meerkats who we were able to watch and touch who came to play in our new building. They bought along with them a hedgehog, a snake and an owl too.

The meerkats were very friendly - so friendly in fact that one of them escaped into the corridor and joined the nursery children who were lining up for lunch. Mrs Bennett had never seen something so small move so quickly! The nursery children were in uproar, the zoo lady was running around the corridor trying to catch him and the children and staff were in hysterics.

I don't think we will have any other animals coming to play with us for a while!
