Mrs Lee's Sewing Club - Mondays, Y1 and 2

Every Monday lunchtime I meet with 10 girls from KS1 and have lots of fun in Sewing Club. The girls have been making hand puppets and the first one was finished today.

Here is a very proud Zoya with her hand puppet. Well done Zoya!

Y4 Residential Visit to London - 16th and 17th March, 2017

It was an absolute delight to join Y4 on their trip to London last week. We left school at 6.30am and travelled down with 30 excitable children and 6 jolly staff and arrived to a London bathed in bright sunshine. Then began a fun filled two days worth of activities.

Y3 Assembly

This morning I watched a stunning class assembly by the year 3 children all about The Great Kapok Tree that they have been reading in English. The performance was stunning. The children all spoke beautifully, their acting was excellent and the singing was delightful. I was very proud of them all.

Well done Year 3. You were fabulous!

Meerkat Mayhem

On Friday 3rd March we had a mobile zoo come and visit Y2 as part of their learning around the book Meerkat Mail. We had two very lively (and smelly the children said) meerkats who we were able to watch and touch who came to play in our new building. They bought along with them a hedgehog, a snake and an owl too.

World Book Day fun

Today we celebrated World Book Day. We had great fun. All children dressed up as their favourite book character and spent the day looking at 'A Child of Books' by Oliver Jeffers. The following photos show the book we have read and Amaan dressed as George from George's Marvellous Medicine.

It is a wonderful book which demonstrates how we are all a product of what we read.

5M Police Cadets Presentation - 17.2.17

We had a fabulous day in school today. Our first police cadets were presented with certificates to mark their successful completion of the Police Cadets course that they studied with PC Justine. They really enjoyed the course. They learned so much that will be useful to them as adults out in the wide world.

Congratulations to Alexia, Gracie, Mackenzie, Isha, Leah, Lauren and Dawson. We are very proud of you.

Fencing Competition Winners

On Monday we had a fencing competition at Sneyd Green Primary. Lots of schools from across the city came along to take part in the challenge. We entered a team and the children were very enthusiastic about the competition. They participated well and behaved impeccably.

I was absolutely delighted to discover that the overall winner was James Dawes from Year 3. Well done James. We are so impressed with you.

Here he is in action.

Parent Coffee Afternoon

Today we welcomed many of our parents (and pre-school children) to our coffee afternoon in our fabulous dining room. It was lovely to mingle with parents and to hear so many positive comments particularly about the number of clubs that children can attend and the information available on the website. Our junior choir the Sneyd Sensations also came along and entertained us which rounded off the afternoon perfectly. We were all very proud of them.

Nursery Family Learning

Back by popular demand, our Family Learning sessions began in school today, with a fantastic Rhyme time Session for Nursery pupils and parents. the children had great fun - and so did the mums, dads, nans and grandads that came along. We have more family learning sessions coming up in the near future. Look out for the letters in your child's pack.

Guess Who Came To School Today!

Some strange creatures appeared in school today. First of all, the children in Construction Club worked together to create this fabulous robot. Fortunately he looks like quite a friendly robot.

During the afternoon it started to get rather warm in my office. When I wandered into the foyer, I found our fabulous fire breathing Chinese dragon was finally going up on display. He looks rather fierce; perhaps we all need to make sure we are on our best behaviour!
